Jingle Bells…..

So Christmas is coming up and I want to do something awesome that I could do year after year.

I want to design my awesome egiftcards that can be printed out and put into a christmas card. These can be ordered for specific items like (2 game controllers) or a specific amount (the amount would start at like 45$ and go up!)

It would be a great way for people to get what they want and I’ll be creating different designs as we slowly get closer. And yes, they will involve ponies but there will be more generic Christmas designs. 

That is something I totally want to do! It would be really awesome and an easy way for everyone to get what they wanted and put it on their Christmas list!!

Some Important Updates

Alrighty, so I promised some updates on the blog so here we go. 

Custom Orders 

Before you go and assume, no I am not enforcing a custom making fee right now. What I am going to start enforcing is that your purchase your item before it’s custom made for you. I spend a lot of time making designs for people who are all about seeing it , but then they don’t end up purchasing the item so it’s sort of like…I’m doing it for nothing? Does that make sense? Like even though I am gaining more designs for my shop, it’s like why am I making you a custom design if you’re just not going to buy it :( So if you’re interested in a custom design, I’d really appreciate it if you bought it before hand. 

Website

It’s official I now have a website of my very own and it is packed FULL of information for you guys including a pricing guide so you guys can figure it out. I’m going to be adding more pages and such for things like sales and contests that way you guys can keep up to date with them! I’m going to have to redesign it I think it’s a little small for the browser so I’m going to fix that issue soon, but I’m really excited about it!!! CLICK HERE TO SEE THE SITE

Email

Along with getting a new website I have a new email to go along with it! I am really excited that I’ll have this means of communication with you guys, this way you can send me emails and what not! If you have traveled to the land of my website, you’ll see I have a “Sponsors” page. This page is for the people who help me out by advertising for me, spreading my name, helping me get likes and business. Pretty much my support team, and to support them back I have an area for them on my site so you guys can find their pages and such! Give them a like and check them out!! Also with having sponsors this means that I can/might have giveaways that are specifically on their page only! So if you don’t like their page, you could end up missing out on specials! 

Giveaways/Contest

I’m not going to be having many giveaways or contests until business picks up, or until I get a part/full time job to pay for the items to give away. But YOU can help me host one, by purchasing an item (contact me for the special pricing) and hosting it on your page for your fans!! Until business picks up the only giveaways or contests i’ll be doing are for reduced/free shipping or reduced pricing. But for special events I may end up giving away skins themselves! So always keep an eye out! 

Handheld Gaming Sytems (DS, PSP etc.) Release

I have yet to announce a release date for these items, but fear not, I am working hard on getting them out. I am expecting to have the pricing for these items at $40-$45. I’ll be posting more about this when the time gets closer, and until then I can’t really give a date as to when you’ll see them released. I am accepting ideas for them though, so if you have one send me an email!!!

I posted about something BIG coming to the blog, and here it is. I recently talked to the owner of a Facebook Page called: Equestrian Mental Institution. It is a page for ‘Bronies’ to come together and just talk and laugh and what not. I know the owner personally so he and I decided to give back to his over 6000 fans plus my barely over 100, by teaming up together to run a contest!! As owner of A Rarity of a Design, I find myself frequently being asked to design My Little Pony skins, and as of right now I have one that I would love to give away. 

I have a Fluttershy Xbox 360 Controller skin, so I thought to myself, how on earth do I start this contest, what do I base it around? So the owner Stephen and I collaborated about it and we decided to do an art contest! 

So how does this all work you want to know. It’s simple. In order to qualify for entering you must first like A Rarity of a Design’s Facebook page by clicking HERE!

After liking, please let me know you’re going to enter by leaving a comment!! Then send me an email to raritydesigns@ymail.com with your subject as FLUTTERYSHY CONTEST. Inside the email please include your name, Facebook name (if your name is different on Facebook this is crucial; this is for checking purposes. If you don’t like the page I will not accept your entry), your age, and state. The most important thing that you have to send along with all of this, is ART! 

What constitutes as art for this contest? Drawings, digital art, photo manipulations etc. Pretty much visual art. 

I’ll accept everyone’s art as long as it is not vulgar. This means NO rule 34 you guys! Keep it classy, not trashy. Would you want the CMC (Cutie Mark Crusaders) to see this?! They’re just little ponies! If you submit artwork that is NOT acceptable, I will email you back and let you know that you are not going to be accepted. 

I will be leaving submissions open until Saturday March 17, 2012. At midnight I will be closing submissions.  Voting will go from Sunday March 18, 2012 to Saturday March 24, 2012. Please pay attention to both the blog and/or my Facebook page for last call voting etc.

It’s a Derp in a box!

As many My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fans know, there has been a lot of drama circulating around the character Ditsy Doo aka Derpy. So I decided to create a little something in memory for the true Derpy. The ones the fans - Bronies - have created! 

The designs for the XBOX, PS3 and Wii console will differ because the different consoles have different skinning space. 

Here is the design displayed on the XBOX and PS3. The Wii design hasnt been finalized because it is intricate to place.
